SAFFRON SEDUCTION

How do you make a martini even more sophisticated? Infuse it with Saffron, darl. This radiant elixir has a surprisingly rich texture, and leaves a subtle hint of bitterness in its wake. Well, don’t we all.

Grab:
60ml Polarity BitterSweet Gin
5ml Tio Pepe Sherry
5ml homemade Saffron Infused Vermouth*

Now for the fun part:
Add it all to a mixing glass full of ice.
Stir until ice cold and pour into a chilled glass.
Garnish with a lemon coin. Aim for -4°C.

*Add 0.5g of saffron to a full bottle of Dry Vermouth and leave to infuse in a cool dry place for 2 hours. Strain, add 50g of sugar, pinch of sea salt and mix until dissolved. Store in fridge for your future martini festivities.

Prefer the only slightly twisted classic Martini?
Add 60ml of Polarity BitterSweet gin, 10ml of Dry Vermouth and 3 drops of Orange Bitters to a mixing glass full of ice.
Stir until ice cold and pour into a chilled glass.
Garnish with a lemon coin.
Always delicious, but ideal at -4°C.

SUNSET NEGRONI

A blossomy companion to its Twilight counterpart, inspired by those of us who rise above life’s bitterness. Swapping vermouth for ginger wine brings a lightness in both colour and taste, to create a Negroni for those who’ve yet to be enchanted by its charms.

Grab:
35 ml Polarity BitterSweet gin
25 ml Ginger Wine
10 ml Campari
Dash of Angostura Orange Bitters

Now for the fun part:
Add it all to a mixing glass full of ice.
Stir until ice cold and pour into your chilled glass.
Garnish with a lemon coin.

Prefer the only slightly twisted classic Negroni?
Add 30ml of Polarity BitterSweet gin, 20ml of Sweet Vermouth and 20ml of Campari to a mixing glass full of ice.
Stir until ice cold and pour into your chilled glass.

Delightfully deceptive in its smooth, peachy keen, nectarous delicacy. This is a sweet, welcoming blonde that could absolutely beat the crap out of you. Quite the bombshell, indeed.

25ml Lemon Juice
15ml Egg White / Aquafaba

This recipe makes some more of the syrup for emergency stopper spinning sessions. So, toast 5 star anises, 2 cloves and 10 peppercorns. Leave for 15 minutes in 300ml boiling water with 3 chamomile teabags. Fine strain and top up to 300ml with more boiling water. Add honey to 600ml and stir until mixed. Store in fridge.

NICK OF THYME

Treat yourself to a citrus serenade with this upgraded G&T, infused with a zesty lemongrass syrup. So fresh and moreish, you’ll gloss over the potent trojan horse. A refreshing livener that will leave you saying, “there is no perfection, only gin.”

Grab:
50ml Polarity BitterSweet Gin
75ml Indian Tonic Water
20ml homemade Lemongrass Cordial*

Now for the fun part:
Build in a highball glass with lots of ice.
Garnish with a thyme sprig.

*Blend the following bits and pieces on high for 30 secs: 1 lemon zest (peel sharply to avoid white pith), juice from 5 lemons, 150g sugar, 100ml water and 2 lemongrass stalks. Strain and store in fridge. Makes a bit more than you need for a solo drink, but trust us – you’ll need it.

Prefer the only slightly twisted classic Gin & Tonic?
Build 50ml of Polarity BitterSweet Gin and 100ml of Indian Tonic Water in a highball glass with lots of ice.

YOUR DARK MATERIALS

Consider this twist on an Espresso Martini as your dæmon form; keep it close and trust it implicitly, knowing that the raspberries guarantee you a fresh powdering of Dust. If that’s all a bit much, just know it tastes like liquid tiramisu.

Grab:
40ml Polarity Blacklight Gin
30ml Espresso
20ml Coffee Liquor
3 raspberries
0.5 tsp sugar

Now for the fun part:
Shake it all with ice, and shake it hard. Fine strain and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with 3 coffee beans.

TWILIGHT NEGRONI

The antagonist to our lighter, Sunset offering that will enchant any crepuscular creature. Although sinister looking, the taste is far more berry than scary. Vermouth has been upgraded to ruby port, for a dark twist on a Negroni that even the most discerning Italian dads can’t resist.

Grab:
30 ml Polarity BlackLight gin
20 ml Ruby Port
20 ml Campari
Berry water (to make ice)

Now for the fun part:
Add all to a mixing glass full of ice you just made using berry water. Stir until ice cold and pour into your chilled glass.
Garnish with an orange coin.

KEYSER SÖZE

We hate to give you the twist before you’ve gotten to the ending, but here we are. Adding red wine to a cocktail and creating something delicious is like shooting the devil in the back. After

Now for the fun part:
Shake all except Red Wine with ice and fine strain into a stemless wine glass.
Gently pour 10ml of red wine just above the surface of the drink over the back of a spoon to layer the wine on top and garnish with star anise.

20ml homemade Apple Cinnamon Cordial*

Now for the fun part:
Stir over ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with an orange coin.

*Microwave 2 cinnamon sticks, 150g of sugar, 5g / 1 tsp of citric acid and 250ml of clear apple juice for 4 mins, stirring every 1 min. Leave covered for 1 hour and strain. Store in fridge.
